The fan who caught the ball with which Lionel Messi missed a crucial penalty in the Copa America final is selling it. Chile fan Pedro Vasquez took the ball home with him after last month's final in the US which his country won in a penalty shoot-out. However, he no longer wants the item in his house as he is scared of being burgled for it.
He told Spanish outlet Marca: “The truth is that if the ball becomes any more valuable, it would be a risk to have it in my house.

“I could sell it, it would depend on the circumstances. It is nice to have the ball, but if it keeps rising in price, I’ll sell.”

Vasquez stands to earn at least £23,000 for the ball - which looks like being the last one Messi will kick at international level.
