Mourinho watches Rooney struggle in England victory
Wonder what
Jose Mourinho made of it all? The new Manchester United boss was at
Wembley to watch his countrymen take on England.
His
heart, of course, would have been with the Portuguese — but his head
would have been keeping an eye on United’s Wayne Rooney and Chris
Smalling.
Fans were
quick to hail the Mourinho effect after Smalling's late winner meant
that Manchester United players have scored all three of England's goals
since the Portuguese was appointed manager at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney were on target in the 2-1 win over Australia.
Adam
Lallana is liked by manager Roy Hodgson but in the diamond system
England started with last night, it’s hard to see where the Liverpool
star fits in.
Hodgson has also used 4-3-3, though, and Lallana can be injured Danny Welbeck’s replacement down the left
