Floyd Mayweather
is renowned for his big-spending antics, and the former boxing
superstar has lived up to his name once more with a huge basketball bet.
With
the NBA Playoffs in full swing stateside, the Moneyman placed a huge
$170,000 (£117,800) wager on Golden State Warriors, despite them being
the underdogs.
They
faced Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final,
3-2 down and desperate for a win to save their place in the best of
seven contest.
Mayweather
backed the Warriors - and backed them big - to return $391,000
(£271,000), well over doubling his money after their 108-101 victory.
Not
only that, but the Warriors went on to win the decider 96-88 and book
their place against Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
The
first of seven contests between the two sides got underway on Thursday
night, with the Warriors coming out 104-89 winners in Oakland.
